The instructors talked in terms that you could understand. I liked the notebook to write down wnat I do each time. Liked the internal temp guides and approxmating time. I'm not a competition person but gave me good ideas on presentation rather than just piling the meat on the platter. I do not like chicken, but the thigh I received was great!! Thanks guys for a job well done.
Scott Zabler Iowa, 4-27-2013
The class was great and the food was amazing. I would like to understand the cooking portion in more detail. A temp vs time analisit. With how different grills effect this process. As I imagine the time and temp recomendation for each grill is different.
J.J. Bennett Fairway, KS 4-27-2013
Great class. Teachers have a great knowledge. They have been there and done that. Good instructing, and excellant food. I learned alot and will be aboe to use nearly all of it.
Warren White Kansas City, MO. 4-27-2013

I hope to be able to put my new knowledge to use as soon as possible. Thank you Bob and Daniel, it was all fantastic!!!
Fred Fox Springfield, MO. 4-27-2013
The class was well organised and was extreamly educatinal. Learned alot about presentation and picked up several tricks of the trade. I would highly recomend this class to all that want to be a better pitmaster.
Craig Lawson Burlington, KS. 4-27-2013
I learned new and different techniques on preparing chicken, pork butt, brisket, and ribs, and salmon. Small class so it felt like one-on-one teaching. Got to sample all the wonderful meats! :)
Mollie Goering Glenwood, IA. 11-17-2012
This class was very informative. Absolutely worth the time spent. The amount of information presented, samples and hints given made this class a great deal for the price! Both Bob and Dan are exceptional presenters with a great deal of knowledge on the subject. I would recommend this class to anyone at all levels.
Justin Goering Glenwood, IA. 11-17-2012
We will be able to use a lot of the information that was shared in our competitions, everything from the prep work, to cooking, and finaly to the presentation piece of the box. Loved the way of making our own rubs, easy simple recipets.
Hank Burch and Kristi Russell Topeka, KS 11-17-2012
Answered almost all of my questions before I had a chance to ask them. Very enlightening and well worth the time and effort to get here. Brisket and Pork Butt were covered in detail with many good tips for both backyark and competition cooks.
Larry Neumann Cozumel, Mexico 11-17-2012
Very informative class. Really liked the parts that focused on prepartion of the meats (Ribs & Chicken). Since i don't compete, would have preferred more of this with the brisket and pork butt, but I still found the contest side very interesting and will use the appearance stuff for cooking at home. Thanks! Enjoyed the class.
Michael Bishop Platt City, MO. 11-17-2012
Truly enjoyed this class. Bob is a fantastic instructor. He teaches and demonstrates the sessoning and smoking process and delivers the desired expectation. The hands on part of the class is great, mixing our own rubs based on the 8-3-1-1 ratio made a lot of since. I am going to start the Cooking Log practice, as I am comvinced it will help we active better results. I will recommend this course to others.
Bill Cahill Leawood, KS 10-20-2012
The class was informative and helped me take the fear out of doing BBQ and motivated me to work on becoming a good and consistent barbecue cook.
Curtis Gunnarson Austin, TX. 10-20-2012
I had little experience and knowledge and wanted to learn more. The class was great and I learned so much. Bob and Danny were great and it was great to learn from them, and their experience. With their help, I can only improve my BBQ skills.
Lance Hoover Kearney, MO 10-20-2012
I enjoyed the class very much. Learned a lot. Both Bob and Dan were extremely nice and very helpful. I will definatly take what I learned and use it. Maybe someday compete. Some of the Best BBQ meat ever. Good experience.
Cherie Minks Peculiar, MO 6-9-2012
The class was very well organized. Avery good set of forms for rub development and a cooking log was included in the handout book. The class presented preparation for the four competition meat catagories. Excellant class, great value.
Jim Myers Copperas Cove, TX 6-9-2012
I had a great time and learned a lot and ate a ton of Que. You gave me some great ideas on how to improve what I thought was already good que.
The food I brough back was great, My wife loved the chicken I prepared in class and the Ribs didnt hang around long either. Ideas with spices for rubs and little
changes in my preparation that made a big difference in the finished product. I've been practicing at home. The part you taught on timing, for putting on and taking off has helped in preparing more than one meat at a time and keeping it all hot, this way I can regulate my smoker temp with better control. I wished my wife could have been able to come, but hopefully we can come back again for a class for her and I'm sure I'll have more questions then to. Thank you for your offer for additional advice as I continue learning and experimenting. Nice to know I have someone that's willing to help as I keep learning.
Thanks again Chuck Aleck, Webster, S.D. 4-19-08
Bob, thanks again for your class, I went in just wanting to sell sandwiches, did OK so I thought I would try a local contest, Q-Fest in Milbank, SD. Thought it would be fun, I got there on Friday night and seen all the large competition smokers and trailers and the teams that went with them. I felt like pulling out with my $179 Menard's cooker. There was a total of 18 teams from 3 different states. I asked another team if they would help me lift my smoker off my trailer. I was nervous and slightly unprepared, Burnt my chicken, had it to close to the fire box, but turned it in any way. My brisket forgot part of my injection / marinade, but worked with what I had. Ribs went good. When they said to meet for announcing the winners, my wife said I had to go, I was depressed. Went down reluctantly, to my surprise my Ribs finished 1st, When they called my name, my wife had to tell me to go up for my trophy, I was in shock. Then they called my name again for Grand Champion, I was dumb founded, I credit my winning to you and what you taught me. On my ribs all 6 judges voted them the best, hands down. My wife did up the boxes and they looked great, she even made my burnt chicken look good. Thanks again
Feel free to share my experience with others, David can still kick Goliaths ass. they were all great guys to be around. They all invited me buy if I had any questions. Overall a great time. Winning helps.

The class was very well taught, never being in a competition, I had no idea what all went into a competition, now I do. The food was execellent and the people were very nice.
Robert Hennessy 5-17-08 Kansas City, MO.
Very informative. I thought we were going to learn about grilling, but I also learned a lot about smoking which I have wanted to try for a while. I hope you don't mind if I email you on questions in the future. Thank you for having this class for people like me that don't know where to begin.
David Ortega 5-17-08 Kansas City, MO.
When I woke up the morning of the class I was not looking forward to sitting all day in a boring "cooking" class. But I have to say I had an excellent time, Bob Snelson gave a great presentation and kept your interest the whole class. It was a top notch class and I would totally recomment it to anyone who thinks they know how to BBQ.
Sean Hensley 5-17-08 Kansas City, MO.
I really enjoyed this class. I think it could have been better for a novice like me, if we'd each had our own grills, rather than using your smoker, because then we'd know more about how to do it at home on our own grill. However I must say that your smoker makes wonderful food and since I've never gone to the American Royal cookoff, I now know what I've been missing. I did enjoy making my own spice blend and being able to ask questions one on one. You are a great teacher and cook!
Joanne Morgan 5-17-08 Kansas City, MO.
This class was very very good Far more than I would have ever thought. I would recommend this class to anyone.
Joe Jenkins 5-17-08 Kenton, TN.

I love to cook it , I love to eat it, The class was outstanding, learning about rubs; timings, when to put it on, when to pull it off, wrapping and resting; how to present for appearance, and best of all, setting your fire up to last for 4-5 hour or more between refills"halleujah" Thanks Bob S & Bob R I'm looking forward to seeing ya'll again.

Great class. Great info. I learned a ton. Only suggestion would be to have bottled water or something like that available. I didn't think to bring change for a coke maching. The hints, tips, and tricks will be invaluable for home or even competition cooking. Thanks Geremy.
Germery Ferguson 6-14-08 Claremore, OK.
I love the idea of rub developement. I can see experimently for years with different flavors and spices. As a backyard cook I would appreciate more of a "how to" for all the meats. I know this was covered but not emphesiced. I loved eating wonderfully cooked BBQ all afternoon. Thanks so much for a fun and enteresting day.
Greg Anton 7-12-08 Wichita, KS.
For a beginner like myself, the class broke down the "secrets of the unknown" so that I can enjoy the cooking process; rather than be fustrated by inconsistent results. Thanks for the help!!

But after the class now I feel confident in being able to cook for my family without them going hungry!! I learned more today than I thought was possible, very good instruction and a fun atmosphere. Thank for getting me on the right track with BBQ!!!

Bob made it a fun time by simply being himself. The jokes, stories, and knowledge were great. The books are perfect. They let the class spend more time listening instead of writing. Also the recipies are great. I think it's also great that the students get to take meat home. At first I thought the cost was alot but I also know it cost alot to put a show on. Thanks for the good time. God bless you folks.

I've been smoking competitively for quite a few years now, so I was sort of reluctant about attending a class for doing something I felt I already had a grasp on. Bob, was I wrong! My BBQ team and I all attended Bob Snelson's class and by the end of this class we had done changed our entire outlook on smoking. We have been over looking the smaller but finer points in smoking for years. Bob's class definitely opened up a whole new realm for our team. Sauses was not as I expected, It changed my thinking about application and strenght of flavor. A mistake I have been making for years. Approved of the little tips that have only been collected for many years. Glad I have them now. Wood and burning training has also changed my ineffient way of cooking. Bob taught an old dog, new tricks :)
Marvin Atkins 11-14-09 Smithville, MO

Tim LeBlanc 11-13-2010 Conway, AR.
I first learned about your course searching on the internet to learn about BBQ. After viewing your site and reading other testimonials, I made my decision right away that I wanted to take this course. The fact that I had to travel over 1,600 kilometers did not deter me. I am very happy to say that the course not only met, but exceeded what I had expected to gain from this course. The course caters to not only seasoned barbequers, but also beginners and even judges. I can't wait to put everything I've learned to use.

I loved this class! I like cooking and think that I know a fair bit about it, but I learned So Much I never knew about BBQing meat. The class format is geared toward different learning styles, with a good mix of lecture, presentation, and hands on trying. Bob and Daniel kept our interest throughout the 8 hour day, and we ate very well! Our instructors were friendly and approchable, and seem sincerely interested in our questions they answered everything we could think of, and have encouraged us to call or email them with anything that might occur to us, even years down the road. I liked the hands on factor of this class. Listening to Bob, someone who has years of experience, talk about his ways and wisdom of bbq. Having other people to share personal experience with and talk about others experiences. Enjoyed the class very much. Thank You Bob!

Great Food! I appreciated the breakdown of rub ingredients and worksheets. Bob did a good job covering BBQ topics relevant to backyard smokers (me) and competition level people. Great to take food (+ more) home to the family. Bob was good at answering questions.

It was one of the most fun and learning classes I have attended. Bob really is a great teacher with a lot of know how. I can now take what I learned back to share with family in Mississippi.

The class was informative over a wide spectrum of catagories from contest entries to restaurant smoking. It gave me a very good sense of smoking meats, with some of the K.C. Style. It was equally helpful with contact information on the restaurant and marketing leves.

Bob's nowledge and experience was an invaluable in teachint the class. Now I am years ahead of the learning curve. This is the best $250 anyone could spend on learning BBQ/Smoking. This teaching is fun, truthful, and very usefull.
